The Absolutes and the Details

There are five absolute principles that our government must honor, to be legitimate. Do you know them? Do you know which one is absolutely essential to prevent the rise of tyranny?
Do you know what happens next, if they don’t honor those principles?
Do you know who the most quoted authors of the Revolutionary era were, and how the key ideas essential to the American solution were spread throughout the colonies in the hundred years leading up to the Revolution?
Do you know the relative importance of each branch of the federal government? Hint: the common idea that we have three co-equal branches of government is simply false, even though it is stated on federal websites as being true.
After covering those topics, we’ll do an overview of the Constitution and the Amendments, in preparation for diving into the “enumerated powers” the following week.
The what? You know, those 18 or so things that the federal government is actually authorized to do, as opposed to the 4,582,987 ways they CURRENTLY get into our pockets and run our lives. :-)
